Expansion
Thanks to a forward-thinking organization known as the Lindsay Group, North Star Farms will once again be participating in a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in 2011 that will get fresh, certified organic produce to numerous clients in the communities of Bismarck, Mandan, Minot and the Minot Air Force Base. The Lindsay Group established a potential customer base, then coached Marv and Ilene Baker as they presented information about North Star Farms and the produce grown on the farm. This year we're more than doubling our CSA offerings.

The CSA
Each Friday, North Star Farms will deliver bundles of certified organic produce to Bismarck that is in season to a pre-determined location where clients will pick it up. The process is repeated each week for approximately 14 weeks. We will deliver to Minot on Mondays at the UND Family Medicine parking lot. As new items are ready for harvest, they are picked and added to the clients' bundle. This ensures fresh produce all season. Consultants
Cori and Athan Lindsay, who operate the Lindsay Group in Bismarck, approached North Star Farms with some CSA information that had the potential to expand the farm's customer base beyond the local farmers' markets. The Lindsays explained that North Star Farms is unique and that the Lindsay Group services would fit the needs of a unique operation like North Star Farms. A refreshing coaching approach was used that differed from traditional consulting. It actually enhanced the success of this promising project . Two years later, it is doubling for the second time.
