Pride of Dakota
Part of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, Pride of Dakota has become well known for its educational and marketing opportunities. Pride of Dakota is best known for its Holiday Showcases that are held annually in North Dakota's four largest cities; Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot. Hundreds of vendors participate in the showcases every year to market their products to tens of thousands of customers.
ND Farmers Market and Growers Association
This is the state leadership for all farmers markets and independent growers of high value crops. It has seen its membership grow dramatically in the past three years and has administered grants to help local markets form and grow. The association developed the "Dakota Grown, It's All Good" logo in April 2005. Each year in March NDFMGA holds a state convention. The 2008 convention was held in Carrington.
North Prairie Farmers Market
An expanding network of farmers' markets across the northwest, North Prairie is now in its third year and continues to grow. In August 2005 a one-day market was held as a gauge for future expansion. In early 2006, Carpio, which had an independent market, joined with other markets in Kenmare, Powers Lake and Stanley to form North Prairie Farmers Markets. In 2007, Bowbells, Minot and Velva joined the network and Granville is joining in 2008. Vendors from any one of the markets may sell items at any market for one membership fee. North Prairie is managed by Northwest Venture Communities Inc., a nonprofit organization working to reduce poverty in an eight-county region of northwestern North Dakota.
Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society
A nonprofit membership organization that is committed to the development of a more sustainable society through the promotion of ecologically sound, socially just, and economically viable food systems.
